I N N A T U R E

Retreat

North Wales

9 - 11 May 2025

We are nature and yet sometimes this notion can get lost.

As we lose our connection to nature, we also lose connection with self.

Spend a weekend in IN NATURE and nurture these connections.

Hello, sun in my face.,
hello, you who make the morning

and spread it over the fields...
— Mary Oliver, Why I Wake Early

Do you feel like life is racing along? That you’re busy, time moves fast and you often get to the end of the day - the week - the month - and wonder where it’s gone? This weekend is an opportunity to counter all of “that”; to slow down and tune in.

Meeting at the peak of Spring, this is prime time to gather & ready ourselves - top ourselves up - before the onward march to Summer & all of its’ headiness.

The Background

We are nature. You, me, all of us. A strong connection with the natural world feeds us - literally & energetically. When this connection dwindles, we can feel lost, adrift - like something is missing.

This weekend will feed that connection. Through movement, lots of time outside - moving outside, eating outside, simply being outside - and much more, you’ll come away feeling refreshed, renewed and more of yourself.

THE LOCATION

We’ll be staying at The Forge in Corwen, nestled in the hills of magical North Wales. This is a family run off-grid glamping site with beautiful bell tents, a big cabin and a brand new wood-fired sauna overlooking our own natural swimming pond. That’s right: sauna AND swimming pond within walking distance of your comfy bell tent.

Each bell tent is furnished with a proper bed, proper mattress and high quality linen, as well as blankets, little touches and wood-burners. Each tent has its’ own camping kitchen & composting toilet and there is a cute shower cabin with plenty of hot water.

This site is as eco and sustainable as possible - they’ve planted hundreds and hundreds of native trees, have bees, chickens, grow their own veg and is the kind of place that you dream of.

Having lived in North Wales during a very defining period of my life, this region means a lot to me. The wildness of the landscape, the space, the people - it all fed in to my rewilding and I strongly feel that it could do the same for you.

rewilding

Rewilding is a restoration of ecosystems and natural processes. Often applied to forestry, we can apply the same thinking to ourselves: what is our natural state? How and where do we flourish? To answer these questions we’ll spend time in movement to shift things - ideas, energy, obstacles. There’ll be time to reflect & rest, as well as opportunity to come together, share & witness. It wouldn’t be a rewilding without time in nature and believe me - this is the place for it.

MOvement

There’ll be daily yoga practices - a mixture of Katonah Yoga and Vinyasa Flow, a hike to the highest cairn for far-reaching views and wild swimming - both in the natural pond and elsewhere as Sheena (owner of The Forge & certified swimming guide) takes us to one of her favourite secret swim spots.

Yoga classes will cater to different abilities through variations and modifications, giving the chance to challenge yourself or go easy. The hike will be more about moving through the landscape than timed climbs and the swimming is whatever you make of it - for me it’s when I feel most at-one with nature.

What else

We’ll start and end our time together by sitting in Circle at Opening & Closing Ceremonies, setting the theme for the weekend and giving opportunity to share, sit, ponder and reflect.

During the retreat you’ll be treated to a glorious sound journey by the beautiful Laura of Dear Soul Holistic, a way to relax, release and allow the sound waves to carry you wherever you need to go.

You’ll have opportunity to use the sauna along with the pond, as well as laze, wander and take time to yourself.

the FOOD

We’ll be fully catered throughout the retreat by a wonderful local chef. Meals will be seasonal & vegetarian, full of colour and variety. Most dietary requirements can be catered for if notified in advance.
